Everybody screws up sometime

It turns out that I royally fucked-up on my last post.I used Ralph's idiotic rant as an example of the far-right. I should not have used him because not only was it insufficient, I forget that Ralph is completely out of his fucking mind to to use. Instead, I am going to use the uber-conservative blogsite Blogs for Bush as an example of the far-right.

The writers and the bloggers over at B4B are the ones so completely drunk from the White House cool-aid that even if these guys saw reality of how much the Bush administration fucked-up our nation, they would still defend their actions. Anyway, the latest Bush cheerleading, blaming the Democrats for damn-near everything Dear Leader has done wrong rant goes beyond stupidity and logic.

On September 20, 2001, President Bush said to the country and the world, "The entire world has seen for itself the state of our Union -- and it is strong."

Today, that is no longer so. ' They have spent the past few years blindly opposing President Bush, even at the expense of the war on terror.

Today, the Senate passed a war spending bill with an arbitrary date announcing to the terrorists when we are leaving Iraq. While President Bush has promised a veto of any bill that establishes a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, the message that Democrats have sent is clear. The entire world now looks at the state of our union... and it is no longer strong. It has been weakened by partisanship and lost its resolve.

Congressional Democrats, fresh in their majority after years in the wilderness, decided that undermining the Commander-In-Chief for political purposes was more important than sending a message to the terrorists that our war against them will be defined by our victory and not arbitrary timetables.

Sadly, they are proud of this fact.

'Democrats have taken every last ounce of unity that came to life in the days and weeks after September 11, 2001.'?

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?

Who exactly told us that if we weren't for the war, we were for the terrorists?
Which media talking heads told us that we were unpatriotic if we didn't support the bullshit reasons to go into Iraq?
Who used 9/11 as an excuse to invade Iraq, although there were no WMD's, no connection between Iraq and Al-Qaeda?

That would be you guys, thank you very much.

Partisan Extremes

If I have gotten anything out of the dirty, scheming, back-stabbing world or politics(or as I call it, a typical episode of the HBO original series , "Rome"), it's been that all sides have ranting, idiotic partisans carrying water for the other team.
Sometimes though, you have people so stuck-on-stupid and so blinded by the partisan glasses that they wear, that they reuse to see reality.

Ralph, a blogger at Americaphile, happens to top the craziest of the lunatics who still blindly support George Bush, although most Americans now see our Commander-In-Chief as a complete incompetent who can't manage to fight a war, let alone take care of his own people during a national crisis(Katrina anyone?).

And when I mean crazy, I mean completely batshit crazy. The kind of crazy where you can't believe what the hell you're hearing.

You maybe wondering to yourself, 'Is it genetic? Can a person really be born crazy?'

As I said before, both sides have their extreme followers. Take the case of last week's anti-war protests in Portland, Oregon where in a crowd of 15,000 peaceful protestors, a handful of anti-militarists burned an effigy of a U.S. serviceman and burned the U.S. flag.

On the South Park Blocks, a handful of people set afire a uniformed effigy of a U.S. soldier and an upside-down flag. Around them, bystanders took pictures. Some of these images have made several loops of the planet by now, with the "Portland" marquee from the Performing Arts Center centered in the background.

The backlash began a day later.

"These jackasses are pure SCUM," reads one of the e-mails received here this week. "It's because of the sacrifices of these soldiers they have the freedom to act like idiots."

Others of the 15,000 or so marchers were horrified to learn about the small demonstration with the burning effigy. They say they weren't aware it was happening and wish that it hadn't.

"So much for supporting the troops," read an e-mail from an Oregon National Guardsman.

Thanks to those assholes, there's now a perception being spread around the media(mainly FOX News and conservative blogospheres)that the anti-war left are a bunch of kooks who hate the troops, which sure as hell isn't true.

Unfortunately, in today's political climate, we have loud and obnoxious partisans who try and make one stupid incident or the sayings of one shock jock, paint the other side with the same brush, and i'll be honest, i've done it myself when I get annoyed with the folks who still blindly support Bush, although I don't consider myself a partisan to the Democrats.

What both Republicans and Democrats need to do is to drown out the obnoxious voices from the shock jocks, the partisan hacks, and the blind followers, sit down and talk about the issues that our nation is facing, and find a way to re-connect a divided America after six years of partisan games and division tactics from the current administration.

I'm still wondering what made me create my own blog. Maybe it was the idea of having people come into my world and read about my life, opinions, and all that shit in between. Maybe it was through inspiration from my News Hounds friends Yakki and Count Istvan and my other friend from school Kiilah Valind. Or maybe it was both.
